GTA 6 ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Trailer Release, GTA 6 Coming Soon

A trailer for GTA 6 “Grand Theft Auto VI,” the next installment of the wildly popular and violent game franchise, has been released early online after it had leaked. The trailer reveals that the sixth chapter is coming in 2025, according to developer Rockstar Games. The highly anticipated trailer surpassed 110 million views within its first day on Youtube.

The trailer was originally supposed to go up on Tuesday, December 5 at 9 am PST. However, in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Rockstar Games said, “Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube”. GTA 6, the next chapter of the action-adventure franchise, has been a long time coming. GTA 5 was released in 2013.

The trailer features a female protaganist, Lucia, who appears to go a crime spree through crowded beaches, city highways and clubs with her partner in a Bonnie-and-Clyde scenario.

What’s New In GTA 6?

The GTA 6 trailer introduces the series’ first female protagonist, Lucia, who is seen in a prison at the start of the trailer. Later in the video, Lucia and her boyfriend are seen pulling off Bonnie and Clyde-style heists in Vice City. In a statement about GTA 6, Rockstar Games said: “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.

GTA 6 Leaks News

Rockstar Games, owned by Take-Two Interactive, has struggled with leaks. In 2022, hackers leaked unreleased footage from its next iteration of GTA. The video gaming community was rocked by the emergence online of screenshots and game-play videos, which the company confirmed were real and had been leaked as the result of a “network intrusion”.

“We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto,” Rockstar Games announced at the time in a statement posted to what was then Twitter.

GTA 6 More Info: More Questions Than Answers

  • But while the trailer provides lots of things for fans to chew over, some questions have yet to be answered.
  • Chief among them is which consoles the game will release on, as this information was not revealed in the video.
  • However, Take-Two Interactive, which publishes the game, has announced GTA VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X when it releases in 2025.
  • There is no further information on the release date, or on a potential PC version – though if it follows the same pattern of previous games in the series, a PC release will follow.
  • GTA IV and V both came out on PC several months after they launched on console.
  • Fans are also asking who provides the voice behind lead character Lucia, but the identity of the voice actor remains a mystery.
  • It has taken a long time for the new game to come, and James Binns, chairman of gaming media firm Network N, said that might be explained by the sheer success of GTA V, which sold 190 million copies worldwide.
  • “It’s one of the biggest games in the world and it’s kept alive now by GTA Online, an online game where you rob banks and build gangs,” he said.
  • “That means it’s at the top of the play charts most weeks now for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
  • “They spent over a billion dollars on it, so it’s going to be epic in scale. This is going to be the most expensive game ever made.”
  • Previously the gaming giant’s president Sam Houser said the December release for the trailer was intended to coincide with its 25th anniversary.
  • Originally developed in Dundee in 1997 by DMA Design, later known as Rockstar North, GTA has been as critically and commercially successful as it has been controversial.
  • Questions were even asked in the House of Lords about the first game’s violent content.
  • Rockstar has separately announced a deal with Netflix to bring several of its titles to the streaming giant’s gaming offering.
  • GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas – all much-beloved by gamers – will be made available to Netflix subscribers on mobile devices on 14 December.
