Despite Team India losing the first four wickets for only 32 runs while chasing the target of 245 runs, Sachin and captain Uday Saharan put their best to achieve the total score.

Sachin’s 96 off 95 balls and Uday’s 124-ball 81 marked a tremendous comeback and a win, helping India reach the ninth U-19 World Cup final. Sachin said in the press conference after the match that the plan was to bat till the end. We believed we could take it all the way. But that’s okay (because we couldn’t finish the chase), but we won that game and that’s what matters.

Under-19 World Cup Semi-Final South Africa vs India: In the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup, India have made it to the final by winning the semi-finals. Things looked gloomy for the champions when South Africa’s powerful pace attack restricted India to 32/4 in response to the Proteas’ healthy score of 244/7, but Uday and Sachin kept their guts in mind with a 171-run partnership that helped them secure the win. Epic Benoni won during the struggle.

While Sachin Dhas (96) was dismissed in the 43rd over and Sachin fell just short of his century, skipper Uday Saharan (81) was dismissed only when the score was level and India’s progress in the final was finalised as the Asian team secured a thrilling two-wicket win.

Uday knew that if India were to win, he would have to be at the crease at the end of the run chase and although he failed to achieve his target, he was dismissed during the score being equalized.  But the skipper eventually put in a lot of effort to ensure victory for his team.

This was the second consecutive match when Sachin and Uday came together to form a big partnership,  with the pair adding  215 runs for the fourth wicket while scoring a century each during India’s final Super Six clash against Nepal to ensure their group finished on top.

Uday has admitted that I love playing with Sachin. Their intentions are very positive and that helps me a lot. He keeps searching for the boundaries and also rotates the strike.
