Royal Enfield Upcoming Launches: From Electric Himalayan to Scrambler 650

Royal Enfield is working on multiple new motorcycles, including an all-electric Himalayan. Here are 5 upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycles.

Royal Enfield has found the sweet spot with its engines — the J-Series powering the 350cc segment, 650cc twins powering the larger motorcycles, and the new 450cc liquid-cooled motor taking care of the gap between them. With three engines on offer and Harris Performance in the bag, The can create a motorcycle for any segment.

However, before we let our imaginations run wild, there are a few motorcycles already in the works and here are 5 Enfield motorcycles that will be launched in India soon.

There have been rumours about Enfield working on an electric motorcycle, however, during EICMA this year, the company unveiled its first electric motorcycle prototype — an electric Himalayan. With tests going on currently, the all-electric Enfield Himalayan could hit the markets as early as 2025, making it the first electric adventure motorcycle in India.

Enfield first motorcycle on the list is the Shotgun 650, which was unveiled at Motoverse a few days ago. The company launched a limited edition version at Rs 4.25 lakh, which will see only 25 examples. The regular production version is expected to be launched sometime in 2024 and will be powered by the tried and tested 649cc parallel-twin engine that powers the Interceptor, GT, and Meteor 650.

Royal Enfield Scrambler 650

The fifth motorcycle to use the 650cc engine platform will be a Scrambler 650, which has been spied testing several times. The Scrambler 650 gets spoke wheels, slightly longer travel suspension, dual rear shocks, and dual-purpose tyres. The Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 launch is expected sometime next year, mostly during the second half of 2024.

Royal Enfield Scram 450

Similar to how the older Himalayan 411 and the Scram 411 shared the engine and platform, the new Himalayan can spawn a more road-focused scrambler, called the Scram 450. Based on the same chassis as the Himalayan, the Scram will also get the same 40-horsepower liquid-cooled motor, but with slightly smaller wheels to make it more city-friendly. The Scram 450 launch timeline has not been revealed, but expect it to happen soon.

The Classic 350 range has become a stellar hit for Royal Enfield, opening the market for new riders and countries. With the Classic’s success and the popularity of the 650cc engine, it only makes sense for Enfield to build a Classic 650. As with the other models, the Classic 650 has been spied testing on a few occasions, meaning Enfield is running real-world tests ahead of its launch.
